VISA INFORMATION (for Singapore)

General Invitation to Secure Travel Support
Around February 2019, the reviewer’s decision on abstract acceptance/rejection will be sent. The notification will include an invitation to participate in the conference and all associated activities.

Invitation Letter to Apply for Visa

  • An authorized visa agent or trusted partner can provide this and if required, also act as guarantor.
    Participants from Assessment Level I and Level II Countries should consider this option.

  • Conference secretariat can also issue the invitation letter but cannot act as guarantor. Click here to obtain your invitation letter

Entry Requirements
All visitors to Singapore must meet the following entry requirements:

  • Valid travel document (minimum 6 months validity at time of departure)

  • Onward/return ticket

  • Entry facilities (including Visas) to next destination

  • Sufficient funds to stay in Singapore

  • Visa for entry to Singapore (if applicable)

  • Yellow Fever Vaccination (if applicable)

 

Visa-Free Countries
Foreigners holding travel documents NOT issued by Assessment Level I & II Countries are allowed visa-free entries (see below).

 

Countries Requiring Visa
Foreigners holding travel documents issued by the following countries will require either a Business or Social Visit visa to enter Singapore:

Assessment Level I Countries - How to apply
Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Georgia, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (Document of Identity), India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Macao Special Administrative Region (Travel Permit), Moldova, People's Republic of China(PRC), Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan.

Assessment Level II Countries - How to apply
Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kosovo, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Yemen, and holders of Palestinian Authority Passport, Temporary Passport issued by the United Arab Emirates and Refugee Travel Document issued by Middle-East countries.
It is highly recommended that foreigners from Assessment Level II Countries should apply for their visas through a Singapore-based trusted partner.

Submission through Immigration & Checkpoints Authority's (ICA) Online Portal
Processing time is one working day for applications via the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority's (ICA) online portal Submission of Application for Visa Electronically (SAVE)

Note: Please have your credit card on hand for making payment online
Foreigners from Assessment Level II Countries are strongly recommended to apply for their visas through trusted partners which will act as a local contact. This will help to ensure smooth processing and delivery of your visa application.

Note: Should you be travelling to Malaysia for the Tanjung Piai National Park field trip (Field Trip #9) or the Post-Conference Workshop land based visa arrangements must be made in advance by each participant. We only recommend attending this trip if your passport allows visa-free travel by land to Malaysia.
